Decades of Experience
Lionstone Development’s long range goal is to develop and manage a diversified portfolio of exquisite residential and hospitality ventures in optimum locations. Lionstone aims for profitability and long-term value appreciation for its shareholders, a congenial and productive work environment for associates, and sustained profitability and appreciation for its assets. 1960s
1966 - Acquires the White House Hotel, South Beach (sold in 1973)
Acquires a 35,000 sq. ft. retail building in South Beach
Acquires two rental apartment buildings in Miami Beach (sold in 1973)
1967 - Acquires the Copacabana Hotel, Miami Beach (sold in 1970)
Acquires the 150,000 sq. ft. Mercantile Office Building in Miami Beach (sold in 1976)
Initiates co-investment and sale of Southeast Centers, shopping centers in Miami and West Palm Beach with 150 tenants and 600,000 sq. ft. of retail space

1970s
1971 - Acquires the 352-room DiLido Hotel, Miami Beach
1974 - Acquires and initiates development of a 550-acre residential community in Pembroke Pines, Florida (sold in 1978)
1974 - Acquires the 325-room Seville Beach Hotel, Miami Beach

1980s
1980 - Initiates investments in more than 250,000 sq. ft. of freestanding retail and commercial space in Buenos Aires and surrounding suburbs
1985 - Develops Paseo de la Infanta, a 200,000 sq. ft. shopping center in Palermo, Buenos Aires

1990s
1992 - Co-develops Paseo Alcorta, a 1 million sq. ft. shopping center in Buenos Aires with more than 200 tenants (Interest sold in 1993)
1997 - Acquires the 200-room Curacao Casino Resort. In 1999, repositions property as the Sheraton Resort & Casino, and in 2003, further upgrades and repositions the property as the Hilton Curacao & Casino
1999 - Acquires the 600-room Holiday Inn Aruba

2000-2004
2000 - Acquires the Princess Beach Resort & Casino in Curacao (repositions as the all-inclusive Breezes Curacao in December 2001)
2001 – Acquires the Historic Dupont Plaza Hotel in Downtown Miami (redeveloped into EPIC Residences & Hotel)
2003 – Reopens the Di Lido Hotel as 375 room The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach
2004 – Dilido Retail Shops opens
2004 - Launches co-development and pre-sales of EPIC Residences & Hotel with CMC Group in Downtown Miami for a mixed-use project including a 55-story residential tower, five-star hotel, marina, and retail space
2004 - Acquires and renovates iconic commercial property on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach

2005-2010
2005 - Relocates Lionstone company headquarter to prestigious Lincoln Road location
2005 - Acquires lots in Muller Bay and Vessup Point
2005 - Initiates permitting for Acqua Marina, a $15 million residential venture in Fort Lauderdale (sold in 2012)
2005 - Initiates co-development for the St. Regis Residences, Costa Rica
2005 - Initiates co-development to convert the Seville Beach Hotel into The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences, South Beach (Sold property to Marriott International in 2010)
2006 - Begins the entitlement phase of a 250-unit condominium (fractional and estate residences) in the U.S. Virgin Islands as co-developer with The Ritz-Carlton Development Company (Sold to The Ritz-Carlton Development in 2007)
2006 - Initiates the co-development with Global Development of a 65,000 sq. ft. residential venture in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida (Sold in 2012)
2007 – Acquires and renovates The Beach House Hotel & Restaurant in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico
2008 – Acquires Floris Suite Hotel Curacao
2008 – Construction of EPIC Residences & Hotel is completed
2009 - EPIC Hotel opens and managed by Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants

2011-2015
2011 - Acquires and initiates development of the Old Dearborn Bank Building in Chicago to convert into a Virgin Hotel
2012 - The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach undergoes $11MM hotel room renovation
2013 - Full renovation of rooms at the Hilton Curacao and Casino
2013 - Holiday Inn Aruba undergoes Hotel room renovation
2013 - Leases 19,000 gsf of retail space to Walgreens on the corner of Collins Avenue and Lincoln Road
2013 - The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach undergoes a full meeting space renovation
2014 - Sunscape Curacao Resort renovation completed
2014 - Sells the neighboring entitled parcel to Epic Hotel & Residences for a market record price
2014 - Acquires luxury ocean front property and converts into The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour
2015 - The first Virgin Hotel in the world opens in Chicago with 250 rooms

2016-2019
2016 – Lionstone Development celebrates its 50s anniversary
2017 – The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour refurbishes its guestrooms and suites for 3 MM
2018 – The Ritz-Carlton South Beach undergoes 90 MM renovations of guestrooms and public areas
2019 – Agreement signed with AM resorts to convert Hilton Curacao to 5 start all-inclusive Dreams Resort
2019 – Opening of Dreams Curacao resort after 15 MM renovation

2020s
2020 - The Ritz-Carlton South Beach reopens after a 90 Million renovation
2020 – Lionstone partners with Flag Luxury and Ben-Josef Group to merge The Ritz-Carltons and Sagamore
2021 – 7 MM conversion renovation of Floris Curacao resort to Dreams Preferred underway
2020 – Lionstone partners with Flag Luxury and Ben-Josef Group to merge The Ritz-Carltons and Sagamore
2021 – 7 MM conversion renovation of Floris Curacao resort to Dreams Preferred underway
2021 – Zoetry Curacao opens after 7 million renovation
